Redwings getting their coats on

We’ve been busy in the workshop (well, mostly me on my own when it comes to the prep.) preparing a couple of the Tenby Redwings and re-varnishing bits and pieces and a complete new build-up on the deck of ‘Shamrock’, R241. Her deck had become salty and saturated because the undersides were not well-enough protected and whilst she was upside-down on trestles we thoroughly coated the underside of the decks as we dried her out.

One thinned and six full strength coats of International Compass has been applied to R241 and just a couple of refresh coats on the deck of ‘Pintail’ R228.

Fit-out is next and then they’re off down to the dinghy park at Tenby S.C. ready for the start of the Redwing Series in early May.

‘Pintail’ having her deck varnish freshened up.
‘Shamrock’ getting nice and shiny and protected under coats of fresh varnish.
